Here at Little Scholars Academy we try to encourage healthy eating habits early in all of our kids. We teach them about food, serve them new foods they may not have ever tried before, and encourage the fresh fruits and veggies! Well we recently decided to take that attitude one step further, and started our very own vegetable gardens.
The children assisted in filling our raised bed gardens with soil, planting the veggies, spreading mulch, watering, and more! Their excitement for food and vegetables grows every time they step foot in the garden, and we’re very excited to continue until our first harvest! We are currently growing:
- Sunflowers
- Fresh Basil
- Strawberries
- Spaghetti Squash
- Cantaloupe
- Tomatoes
- Red, Green, & Yellow Bell Peppers
- Jalapenos
- Crookneck Squash & Straightneck Squash
- Zucchini
Here are some pictures of our progress along the way!
